It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to write a post about gratitude!

Have you ever met someone and felt an instant connection with them? Have you ever felt like you already knew them but couldn’t rationally explain this feeling?
When I met Dan, I felt that we were just continuing a conversation that we had started long ago – even though this was our first time meeting.
I believe that we have birth families and soul families. And sometimes there is overlap between the two, and sometimes there isn’t.
And when you meet someone from your soul family, the connection is always immediate and the knowing runs deep. You are instant friends. You are pulled to each other like magnets. You often feel a sense of closeness without even needing to say a word. Your external lives may be completely different, but I have found that your internal worlds are very similar. You share a deep love for one another – a love that goes beyond this world, beyond our minds and our bodies. A love from the soul.
And because this is a new feeling for many of us, it can be a bit scary. Our rational mind will try to minimize these feelings and this instant connection. But if we allow our souls to stay in the driver’s seat of our lives – if we allow our higher self to take the reins – we will soon realize that this connection is a part of our soul family. It is a long-lost friend from long ago. It is someone that we have known before – a kindred spirit that we have missed and are so grateful to have back in our lives.
To me, there is nothing better than the feeling of reuniting with long-lost loved ones – members of my soul family. It is the most beautiful gift we can be given. Dan was the first that I found, and there have been several others since – each of whom I am eternally grateful to have in my life.
In just a few days, I am excited to introduce you to a member of my soul family whom I only recently reconnected with. Our connection was instant, and our internal similarities are astounding. She truly is an amazing person, and I am so grateful that we are back together again.
Take a look at your own life and your own connections. Have you made any soul-family connections yet? If not, I am so excited for you to do so. I believe that if you are open to this deep connection and soul-filled love, it will come into your life at the exact perfect moment. Just trust your intuition – if you feel that someone is part of your soul family, take a risk and connect with them. Your soul will never steer you in the wrong direction.
I am forever grateful to my soul family. And I am also grateful that we each have the chance during our lives to connect with our own soul families. It’s an amazing bond of love that I wish each of us to experience.
Yes it is so important to have soul friends. It usually happens the minute you talk to them. Can’t tell you why but you know it is there. As the years go by you do lose some of them but they are always there in your heart any you never forget them.
Great comment, Linda. It’s so true that we never forget our soul families – no matter if they are with us or not – they are always in our hearts.
I have a soul friend. We might go a couple weeks without talking. But intuitively, one of us will think of the other and within minutes a call, text, or email will pop up. I’ve always said we must be connected at a higher/deeper level. It happens all the time.
Hi Sarah – thanks for your comment. I’m so glad you have a soul friend, too! It’s an amazing connection!
Jodi, anyone would be so fortunate and honored to be part of your soul family! 🙂 I’ve experienced soul connections that can’t be understood, as you mentioned above. Some of these soul connections didn’t last, but that was likely the agreement we had – to travel for a stretch of time in this life and then continue separately. It’s all good, as some soul friends are only meant to serve a specific purpose to help us grow, and vice versa. Life is truly magical!
Great point, Alice! I am so grateful that you are a part of my soul family. Much love to you!
Oh yes, I’ve had that feeling! As well as the opposite – of complete intolerance to someone I’ve only just met. We are connected on so many levels that sometimes I am thankful that we come to this world not remembering those connections because it is so uplifting re-inventing and re-connecting!

There is an old saying with which you may be familiar (or may not – depending!) and it goes “birds of a feather, flock together”. Whether they be soul families or friends or whatever, it’s so very true and everyone is worth their weight in gold!
