If you had to list five books that impacted your life the most, what would you say?
I have read so many wonderful books over my lifetime, so this is definitely not an easy task. I’ll share the five that came to mind right away, but I have a feeling there will be many others that I will want to add just as soon as I remember them.
I fell completely in love with Morrie and the life lessons that he so graciously imparted on all of us when I first read this book.
I read this book soon after 9/11. Before this, I had put the world on a pedestal. I had just finished my degree in Sociology, and I was ready to save the world. This event shattered my idealistic bubble, and this book helped me pick up the pieces.
I recently read this book for the first time, and it truly helped me make sense of what I have been experiencing in my own life. You can read my review here.
Cheryl is one of my favorite authors. She introduced me to self care many years ago, and in this book she helps us see that grace is all around us – all of the time. I reviewed this book here.
The mind/body connection is so powerful and so real. I loved how this book helps us see the mental causes behind physical illnesses – and it gives affirmations to overcome them. I reviewed it here.
And one more – because I couldn’t stop at just 5! 🙂
This book/DVD introduced me to the Law of Attraction, and I have never looked at my life in the same way since.
Please share your top five books with all of us, too!
I’ve heard all of Mitch Albom’s books are great. When I taught 8th grade, a bunch of my students read and raved about The Five People You Meet in Heaven. (I hope I got that title right; I’m going off of memory and I haven’t had my coffee yet this morning.) I really need to start reading his books.
That is a great book, too! 🙂
Tuesday’s always brings me back to the important things in life…recenters me if you will……Randy Pausch’s book does the same for me….nice post
I haven’t read Randy Pausch’s book – thank you for the suggestion!
Marianne Williamson’s “Return to Love”
Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist”
Isabel Allende’s “The House of Spirits”
Lynn V. Andrews’ Medicine Women series
JRR Tolkein “The Lord of the Ring” trilogy
These are wonderful books. The Alchemist is so amazing. I haven’t read Marianne Williamson’s book, but it keeps coming up on my radar. So maybe it’s time to check it out. Thank you!
