What if you woke up one morning and realized that you were a teacher?
And what if you knew somehow that the entire Earth was your classroom? And it was your job – literally – to go out into the world and share your wisdom with everyone that you encountered. It was your job to sprinkle hope everywhere you went. But it was also your job to speak the truth and share things that people didn’t always want to know but you knew they needed to hear.
What if it was your job to be the voice of love and the gift of light – helping it flow out of you and into the world?
If you woke up tomorrow and realized all of this, what would you do? How would your life be lived differently? Would you embrace this occupation – this calling? Or would you shove it to the side and ignore it?
What if I told you that you’re already doing one or the other? What if I told you that you already are that teacher? Would you believe me?
It’s true! You already have this wisdom and love and light inside of you – just waiting to be shared and spread throughout the world. And some of the time, when you’re feeling a bit whimsical and carefree, you do exactly that. You share it and offer it to others and spin around and laugh while this love just flows out of you. And other times, when you’re feeling sad and scared, you hide this part of yourself. You crawl away from the light and cower in the darkness.
But in both of these instances, the truth was still the same: you always were that gifted, loving, special teacher. And you always will be.
And now that you know this, you can no longer pretend that you don’t know. You can no longer bury your head in the so-called sand and act like you aren’t aware. None of us can.
You can either choose to spread your love and light, or you can choose to keep it inside of you. But either way, it will be a conscious choice from now on.
Because you are a teacher. We all are. We all have so much love to offer each other all of the time. And the moment we remember that this gift has always been inside of us, the moment the magic enters our life again and everything begins to make sense for the first time. We are teachers. Each and every one of us.
And remember – you’re a teacher every single moment of your life. And you get to choose your lesson plan. So what will you choose to teach the world today?
Please share this post on Facebook and Twitter – thank you for spreading the love!
Wonderful post, Jodi! Thank you for reminding us that we shouldn’t hide our light from the world. I pray every day that what I write in Meditations of my Heart is inspirational for others.
Blessings to you!
Great inspiration Jodi and wake up call all at the same time. The world is a wonderful place and think how much more amazing if we all were encouraged…just as you do here.

Jodi, fantastic post! I am a real life teacher, and I totally feel the wisdom, love, light inside me 🙂 I also see this in so many other people, and my wish is that they discover the teacher in them as well. Thank you for you beautiful words <3

Thank you for this, Jodi. We all have a sphere of influence and impact, and we are teaching by example always. This is a lovely inspiration to be conscious about what we are teaching.
Lovely day to you

Great post! I believe we are all teachers too and I love your reminder to be the voice of love and light. Thank you!
Love it Jodi – thanks for sharing the wisdom!
I always wanted to teach, even when I was 5, 6 years old. but I thought to be a “proper” teacher when I’m 60 or 70, wise and old….I supress this side as much as I humanly could, until I couldn’t do it anymore…finally I came out of my own closet, and teach professionally. This is who I am, who I was and who I will always be 🙂

It’s a good thing that not everyone gets the same message since we all have our own unique voice that speaks to certain people. The people that can hear us our voice is for them. The people that can’t aren’t supposed to.
As long as you follow your heart it will work out for the best. It’s when we try to follow someone else’s calling that throws off the synchronicity that is life. If your message isn’t being heard your aren’t connected to your authentic self.
Jodi I love it of course we just talked about this. We all have many different things we are supposed to teach over a lifetime. It’s being true to your calling that will take you where you are supposed to go.
It is clear that you Jodi are on the right path… not everyone is and they don’t realize it. If no one seems to be listening to them it’s because they aren’t sharing their message they are confused and sharing someone else’s. Once they find their true voice everything will come together the way it’s supposed to. I know that is my voice to guide people to find theirs. 🙂
What a wonderful message Jodi! I choose to share love and light, and on this Thanksgiving Day (in Canada) I express gratefulness for the lessons you teach in your blog: To be yourself, speak from your soul, and to nourish your connectedness with all of the beautiful people in the world!
Peace, Love and Gratitude to you!
