Self care and I seem to have a sometimes on / mostly off kind of relationship. I know that I want to make it a part of my life, but it never seems to make it to the top of my list of priorities.
I know that I want to slow down, meditate, relax, journal, rest, and recharge, but it just doesn’t seem to happen as often as I would like (or as often as I need).
Because I’m a visual person, I thought it may make it easier for me to remember to take better care of myself if I saw a colorful, loving reminder of how important this is – if I reaffirmed my promise to take loving care of myself each time I saw it.
So I created a poster that I plan to print out and put in my bathroom where I’ll see it (and read it) often. I am sharing it here because I know that I’m not alone in wanting to close the gap between yearning to practice self care and actually practicing it. I hope it’s helpful for you, too.
You can click on this poster to print it out. It measures 8×10 and is saved at high resolution.
It’s my gift to you because I know how important self care is for all of us. I hope it helps each of us remember how deserving we truly are of our own love and care.
Please help spread the love by sharing this on Facebook and Twitter!
Hugs,

“I promise to put my own needs into my schedule and honor them.” — YES!
Hi Jodi, Did you print it yet??
I love the idea of putting your own needs into your schedule. If only everyone could learn this! I struggle with self care too. I have a 1 year old daughter and by the end of the day I often don’t feel like doing anything self-nourishing at all, even though I have grand intentions!
My therapy work is very much about finding happiness through alignment with values and I would be interested to see what it is that you are giving time and energy to instead of self care.
I’d love also to hear how the visual reminder is going??
I very much appreciate that you have shared your struggle so openly here. The world needs more teachers to transparently show their true selves. Thankyou x
This is just beautiful Jodi, the words and artwork. I love it and will share on media but also in my newsletter. Thank you so much, love & blessings <3
