Living a soulful life isn’t something that just happens to us. It isn’t like we just look at our life one day and realize that we’re awake – enlightened – present – alive – happy – whole – and at peace.
Definitely not. (At least this isn’t what I’ve experienced.)
Living a soulful life is a moment-to-moment decision that we make.
It’s each moment in time when we clearly tell ourselves and the universe that we are simply not okay with walking through our life on auto pilot. We aren’t okay with feeling numb and disconnected. And we definitely aren’t okay that we’ve forgotten who we are at our core – that part of us that holds a direct line to the universe.
Living a soulful life requires that we take time each day to get still. We give ourselves space to dive deep within our soul and pull out its whispers and its urgings. And we embrace our experiences here on Earth with gratitude and see them as life lessons.
Living a soulful life is possible. And it’s beautiful. And it’s absolutely available to each and every one of us. Always.
But it’s like a door that you have to open with a key. And we all have the key. (Although some of us may have misplaced that key or forgotten that they even had it to begin with.) Turning the key and opening this sacred door into our soul is one of the most magical experiences that we can have.
In doing so, we sense a knowing. A deep remembering.
This is Home. This is Me. This is Love.
And it’s absolutely beautiful and definitely soulful.
And then we sort of snap out of it and get back to the laundry and the cooking and the working and the day-to-day activities that keep us grounded here on Earth.
And that’s okay. Because you always have the key, and you can always unlock the door to your soul. Always.
Even while you’re folding the laundry and cooking dinner and working. Even then.
Your soul doesn’t care how you connect with it. Your soul just wants you to remember that it’s a part of you. It just wants you to remember that you are here on Earth for such a short time, but you are always your eternal soul. It just wants you to remember that you can live soulfully through any experience – from the seemingly mundane to the extraordinarily beautiful.
You hold the key. You can open the door.
Your soul is waiting.
You get to choose how you will live during your time here on Earth. Asleep or awake. Disconnected or connected. Absent or present. Closed off or completely open. In fear or in love.
It’s all up to you.
Each moment of each day.
Your soulful life is right there waiting to be unlocked.
So what will it be? Which way will you choose to live?
Please spread the love and share this on Facebook and Twitter!

Couldn’t agree more Jodi 🙂
Thank you so much, Samantha! 🙂
Beautiful inspiration, Jodi, and so true! We can connect, thankfully, with our soul at any moment in time, both in the mundane and the extraordinary.
Blessings to you!
Thank you, Martha!
I’m so glad you’re on the journey with me! 🙂
Jodi,
What I love most about this post is the reassurance and confirmation that we are in charge of how we feel and we always are at choice to determine what we will make of each and every day, and we can certainly be more in tune with our authentic selves by staying in the present. Sometimes we just live the day to live the day, without realizing the tremendous opportunity that lies in each day, and without realizing the tremendous gift we have of choice every day! Nicely done! 🙂
Hi Victor!
Oh, you really said it so clearly and beautifully! The present moment is where life lives. And that’s the only moment where we can truly connect with our soul – our life. And while it sounds so easy and simplistic, it’s the absolute truth.
Hugs to you!
I love this post, Jodi! The very first line grabbed me and kept going from there. It resonated deeply and I believe what you say wholeheartedly. Thank you for the beautifully stated reminder.
Hi Dawn!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so glad you’re here! Hugs!
